With more than 90 exhibits from the most renowned museums of the world, the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum displays how the abuse of power as well as sexualized violence has been influencing artworks for centuries. The exemplary biblical tale of Susanna, who has been a victim of compulsion by two judges has had an effect on art since the late antiquity. The exhibition contains exquisite artworks from Artemisia Gentileschi, Anthonis van Dyck, Rembrandt, Eugène Delacroix, Édouard Manet und Lovis Corinth as well as spectacular pieces from contemporary artists such as Kathleen Gilje, Heike Gallmeier und Zoe Leonard.
