Exhibition: Max Ernst and nature as an invention| Until Jan. 22nd, 2023

Up until January 22nd, 2023, the Art Museum Bonn is displaying Max Ernst’s concept of an alternative history of nature in the context of art throughout time. The center of the exhibition is his work “Histoire naturelle” (1926), which is complemented by a selection of various paintings, drawings, graphic arts and photographs of 25 artists, who have also presented nature as both the familiar and unfamiliar “other”. The display has been sourced from the comprehensive collection of the Art Museum itself as well as from important works from pivate and public collections.
