In 1902 the house was founded as the distillery Peter Spitz and managed as a family business for decades. As a typical Colognian pub with its plank floor and the ceiling from multicoloured lead glass with art nouveau pattern it attracted workers and members of societey, young and old ones ever since. Rebuilt in 1945 in faithful copy the Spitz went over to the family Zitzen who run the business for years. Still today they are the house owner. After repeated leasing Youssef Choumani took over the Wirtshaus Spitz on Oktober, 15th 2007 to put it into its original determination: a Colognian public house for the quarter, a meeting point for young and old. Bare tables and light coloured walls revive the pubs original athmosphere. typical Colognian interior decoration combined with modern art characterize the ambience. Culture and hospitality are cultivated and tradition is skilful linked with modernity.
