ABOUT THE "LEHMBACHER HOF"
The Lehmbacher Hof has a centuries-long and very diversified history. Before Franz Wasser got a liscence for a public house in 1878, the building was used as a horsechanging station and a sub-post office. After 1890 - due to the new railroad line in Sülztal - the Lehmbacher Hof became a famous excursion destination for the people of Cologne. The offers were diversified and especially the fish from the pond nearby were a delicacy.
The former border to Bergisch Gladbach was the Lehmbach river. Today the border to Overath and Bensberg is a few hundred meters further north in Hellentahl at the Barbarachapel, which was built in 1693 in honour of the patroness of the minres near the castle Hellenthal.
